Girls
We have one girls teams (U19). This teams allow girls to play non-check hockey in late middle and through high school, with the U19 team members who are in high school receiving a Durango Varsity High School letter with successful completion of the season.
Ages
U19 players are typically 13-19
24-25 Birth Years: 2011-2005
If your girl is younger than 13 they should continue to play on their age appropriate co-ed team.
When
Regular Season begins the week of October 14, 2024
October - Mid February after Year-End Champioinship Tournament.
Clinics are generally offered in early October and late March, these do incur additional costs.
Practices
Girls team practice: 3x/week
Goalie practice: 1x/week
Dryland practice: varies by team
Typically, practices are held in the evenings between 5-8pm, with some variation.
Games
We have about 4-6 game weekends a year, these have anywhere from 2-5 games per weekend. Travel weekends are usually to Aspen, Vail, Denver, Gunnison, Albuquerque and/or Telluride.
Jerseys
Jerseys are Durango Demons jerseys provided by DAYHA and returned to DAYHA yearly.
You will need to purchase socks that match the team, the manager will let you know which to order.
Extra Costs
Travel costs are not included in registration fees.

EQUIPMENT
USAH requires neck guards for all player starting 8/1/2024.
Mouth guards are required at all times on the ice.
DAYHA requires a black helmet, black breezers/pants, and black gloves for this program.
Scholarships
The intent of our scholarship program is to off-set a member’s registration fee. The exact number and amount awarded is contingent upon the success of the association’s fundraising efforts. Applications received by the end of a calendar month will receive a response by the 15th of the following month.

What equipment is needed? Can we borrow equipment?
All players will need the following equipment:
● black helmet (stickers other than regulation stickers and player numbers should be removed from helmets)

● team socks (these can be purchased through Director)

Yes, we will have limited equipment that can be borrowed. There is also a swap at the beginning of each season for parents to collect used gear. We encourage you to hold onto any used gear and bring it to the swap on opening day in October.
