Thursday, Oct 3rd

6:15-7:15pm

For: 12U/14U/JV/HS

Tuesday, October 1st

6:15-7:15 pm

PeeWees "Angling"

The "Angling" clinic provides PeeWee players a head start against their competition. They will learn the art of angling and how to apply it in the offensive zone forecheck, neutral and defensive zones backcheck, neutral zone forecheck, and defensive zone forecheck. They will also learn to apply angling tactics when racing their opponent toward a loose puck and battling along the boards. Players participating in this clinic find themselves winning more battles on the ice. PeeWees set themselves up for easy transition to body checking at the Bantam levels.

No In-Net Goalies needed for this clinic. However, Goalies are invited to skate out in player equipment.

Bantams & High school "Angling & Checking"

The art of angling is reintroduced. Players learn to apply angling in the offensive zone forecheck, neutral and defensive zones backcheck, neutral zone forecheck, and defensive zone forecheck. They will also learn angling tactics when racing their opponent toward a loose puck and battling along the boards. Angling drills transition into body contact drills at proximity and slow speeds to prevent injuries and acclimate players to body checking in a controlled environment. Drills progress to situational play, where players learn the art of checking on the forecheck, backcheck, battles along the boards, and from the defensive position skating backward. Players also learn how to avoid being bodychecked, skate through a bodycheck, and areas on the ice to avoid being vulnerable to bodychecks (No Mans' Land). Players enter the hockey season fearless and confident!

No In-Net Goalies needed for this clinic. However, Goalies are invited to skate out in player equipment.

Power Skating & Puck Control

For: 10U/12U/14U/JV/HS

12U: 6:30-7:30

14U & Up: 7:45-8:45

Skating is a valuable skill to every hockey player's overall success! The "Power Skating & Puck Control" Clinic provides hockey players the opportunity to pay close attention to their skating technique. Some skating drills are performed at slow speeds so the player spends more time on their inside and outside edges. This improves edge control, balance, and posture, which leads to better overall power skating performance. Skating drills progress to focusing on generating speed and power from every stride. Multiple skating drills enhance performance for executing stops & starts, power turns, crossovers, forward & backward skating, and transitioning from the two. Agility drills focus on lateral movement and increase mobility in small areas. Players will also add in pucks to allow them to practice proper skating and puck handling technique at the same time. A hockey player's ability to control and protect the puck at high speeds and in tight situations is crucial to their success. Participants fly into the hockey season!

No In-Net Goalies needed for this clinic. However, Goalies are encouraged to skate out.
